Meet the Team - Jess!
Jess Zurhaar
Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist
BSc (OT), Curtin University
Hi, I’m Jess - a Paediatric Occupational Therapist passionate about helping little people achieve big things by building their confidence and independence through fun, purposeful therapy.
With years of experience working with both early intervention and school-aged children, I support children with a range of needs, some including Autism, ADHD, Developmental Coordination Disorder, and Global Developmental Delay.
I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. That's why I tailor each plan to suit the unique needs of every child. I love problem-solving and finding creative, practical solutions that make therapy meaningful and fun. Empowering parents and teachers with strategies and tools to support children's development at home and school is also a key part of my approach.
I help children develop essential skills such as school readiness, fine and gross motor skills, handwriting, motor planning, executive functioning, attention, as well as sensory and emotional regulation. With a reputation for being resourceful and creative, I ensure therapy is engaging and relevant to each child's everyday life.
My approach is child-led, neuro-affirming, and family-centred with a focus on fostering independence, confidence, and joy in everything children do.
When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my family, friends, and my cheeky dogs, Alfred and Baxter.
Meet the Team - Jen!
Jen Meaney
Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Master of Occupational Therapy, Graduate Diploma of Education, Bachelor of Nursing
Hi, I’m Jen Meaney – a Paediatric Occupational Therapist passionate about helping children of all ages thrive and achieve. I believe in the importance of understanding what motivates and interests each child to create a bespoke program that builds on strengths and develops areas of challenge.
My background in nursing and education allows to me to view a child in a holistic way that appreciates how disability, psycho-social, neurodevelopmental and medical conditions can impact on health, learning and participation.
I have a special interest in emotional regulation and social skills, play skills, school readiness, handwriting, sensory regulation and gross and fine motor development. I value collaboration with family, caregivers, teachers and health professionals to enable children to fully participate and engage in all areas of life.
I am a proud mother to three teenagers, including a neurodivergent child and two children with significant medical conditions. I have lived experience of the challenges faced by many families with children requiring extra support and always prioritise family centred care and collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for children and their caregivers.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, camping, cycling and singing (badly).
